Military Base Plaques

Gates, Entrances, Headquarters and Training Facilities — in Permanent Bronze

Installation identification is usually done in painted aluminum, vinyl or acrylic, and it looks tired within a few years of weather. Bronze does not.

We produce base identification plaques and large-scale branch medallions for main gates, headquarters entrances, training facilities, ranges and flightlines — the permanent alternative to plastic signage at the places visitors form their first impression.

Large-format work is quoted individually. Smaller facility plaques start at $500.

Gate and Entrance Medallions

A large cast branch seal at a main gate does the work that a painted sign cannot: it reads as permanent, it survives the climate, and it photographs well for every change-of-command and visiting delegation.

Large gate medallions are quoted per project at the diameter the setting calls for. Seals can be set into stone, mounted on a frame, or fixed to the gate structure itself.

Facility and Range Identification

Named facilities across an installation benefit from a consistent set — same border, same patina, same typeface, varying only in text. We hold the template so plaques ordered years apart still match.

The Edwards AFB range plaque and the MCLB Barstow facility plaque are both of this kind: identification, the naming, and the record of who built it, on one panel.

Mounting and Durability Outdoors

Base work is almost always exterior. Hidden stud mounting into stone, brick or concrete is standard, and we specify the hardware for your substrate and supply it with the plaque.

Cast bronze needs no maintenance beyond occasional waxing and carries a century outdoors. Aluminum with a clear coat is available where weight or budget rules bronze out.

Keep gate and entrance plaques short. The seal and the installation name carry it; detail belongs on the facility plaques inside.

Frequently Asked Questions

How large can a bronze seal be made?

As large as the setting calls for. Architectural medallions are produced to order and quoted per project.

Is bronze practical for exterior installation signage?

Yes, and it outlasts every alternative. Cast bronze holds up for a century outdoors where painted aluminum and vinyl need replacing within a few years.

Can you produce a matched set for the whole installation?

Yes. We hold your template so plaques ordered years apart still match in border, patina and typeface.

Do you offer aluminum?

Yes, with a clear coat, where weight or budget rules out bronze.
