Bronze Military Seal Plaques

Cast, Etched and Engraved Branch Emblems — Every Service, Any Size

A service seal is the one element on a military plaque that everybody checks first. We produce all branch emblems in solid bronze, cast from the official artwork, in three distinct finishes.

Seals mount on their own as an architectural emblem, or sit within a larger dedication or memorial plaque. On multi-branch memorials we set five or six seals across a single panel.

Seals are produced in the diameter your setting calls for — from desk-scale emblems to large architectural medallions, each made to order.

Cast Bronze — the Highest Contrast

Cast seals are poured in solid bronze, then the raised artwork is polished back to bright metal while the recessed field is darkened. The result is the sharpest contrast of the three finishes and the one that reads best from a distance or under outdoor light.

This is the finish for a building entrance, a parade ground monument or a base gate. It carries a hundred years outdoors without maintenance beyond an occasional wax.

Recessed Etched — Flattest and Most Economical at Size

Etched seals sit on a flat brushed face with the artwork recessed into the surface and darkened. There is no raised relief, which keeps the profile shallow and the cost down as diameter increases.

This is usually the right choice when a seal needs to be large but the budget is fixed, or when the plaque sits flush in a wall of matched panels.

Engraved — Soft Sculptural Relief for Interiors

Engraved seals are cut in high resolution to give a soft, sculptural relief under a single uniform patina, with no polished highlights. Detail holds far finer than casting allows — useful for eagles, rope borders and fouled anchors.

Because the finish is uniform rather than high-contrast, it suits interior architectural settings: lobbies, headquarters corridors, conference rooms and memorial walls under controlled lighting.

Floor and Hardscape Installations

Branch seals are not limited to walls. Set flush into a lobby floor, an entry walk or a memorial plaza, a bronze seal becomes part of the architecture — the Coast Guard seal shown here is one of ours, set directly into brick.

Floor-set seals are finished to be walked on: heavier section, flush mounting and a finish that wears in rather than wearing out. Tell us the setting and we will specify the right thickness and anchoring.

A five-seal layout across the head of a panel is the most common veterans memorial arrangement we produce. Six if the Merchant Marine is included.

Seals can also sit in a vertical column beside the text, or as a single centered emblem above it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which finish should we choose?

Cast for outdoors and for maximum contrast. Etched when the seal is large and the budget is fixed. Engraved for interior settings where fine detail matters more than contrast.

What sizes do you produce?

Seals are made to order at the diameter your project calls for, from desk-scale emblems to large architectural medallions. Tell us the setting and we will recommend a size.

Can you put several branch seals on one plaque?

Yes. Five- and six-seal layouts are standard on veterans memorials, and there is no charge for the additional artwork.

Do you have official artwork for every branch?

Yes — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, National Guard, the Department of Defense and the Great Seal of the United States.
